Contactless Service for Mercedes Repair
Our lives have changed drastically over the past months and it can be difficult to tell what was done out of panic and what was planned. Stocking 400 rolls of toilet paper = panic. Keeping up with your vehicle maintenance = planning. You may think, because you may have used your vehicle far less than normal, that it doesn't need attention. False. Especially for high-end vehicles like Mercedes, where regular maintenance is essential for keeping all of the features and technology you love running smoothly. And if preventative maintenance was never a focus of yours in the past, now you may have the time to give proper attention to the vehicle you rely on every day.
Fire it Up
Even if you don't need to use it, don't let your Mercedes go several days without starting it. Your entire vehicle from ignition to brakes needs exercise. Starting your vehicle every other or every third day will give the engine an opportunity to flush fluids through and prevent coagulation.
Blow it Out
While you have your vehicle running, adjust the air conditioning and defroster. These systems not only cool the air but also reduce the humidity. If your vehicle sits idle for too long, the humidity in the system could cause mildew to grow which could produce an earthy scent the next time you turn on the air.
Pump it Up
During regular, daily use, your tires heat and cool as you drive on them. On a normal day, your tire pressure rises and falls along with the temperature. With your vehicle remaining idle for longer periods of time, you have more opportunities to check on your tires at rest. A small leak that wouldn't normally be noticeable, will now leave you with a visibly deflated tire because your vehicle has been at rest for hours on end.
Not all checks can be performed at home by the untrained eye and without diagnostic equipment. At Rocco's European Garage in Atlanta, Georgia, we have the trained experts and the right equipment to perform these checks and more.
