The Medal Winners
While all Volvos are great, we'll run down the top three most popular models. Think of them as medals--the gold, silver, and bronze--in order of sales popularity. In business since 1927, when the "Jokob '' was released, many models have been well-loved. Taking the number one spot in the midsize luxury SUV XC90. Still in production today, the first generation was manufactured between 2002 and 2015, and the second followed suit to date. It's available in multiple seating arrangements and trim levels. Drivers seem to love it for its functionality, style, comfort, and modern technology. The XC60 takes the silver medal position. It's the compact crossover SUV that began its first-generation run in 2008, with the second generation being released in 2017. It's known for safety features (no surprise since it was Volvo that first provided seatbelts in cars) and generous standard equipment. Finally, the S60, in third place but the first car on the list, is a luxury sedan produced from 2000 to date (first generation from 2000-2009, second between 2010 and 2018, and third from 2019 through today). It has six trim packages and respected safety features.
