Service writers, also called advisors, have a more customer-facing role than most auto technicians. In the repair industry, they are the bridge between the professionals and the customers! When a guest enters a shop, a service writer will use their training and education to recommend auto repairs and services that would effectively improve that individual’s vehicle. They work alongside the technicians and customers to create optimized plans and may provide estimates for repair costs. Service writer positions can be extremely rewarding for those that love to help others and share their knowledge.
